Running Vista on a Mac?

Okay, so you probably know about Parallels, the application which allows you to run virtual machines in OSX, works a treat running WinXP, but seems like it's not quite there yet with Vista...

Vista on Intel Mac With Parallels: Not Quite There

So the obvious question to all you OSX fanboys out there is... "Why the heck would you want to run Vista on OSX?" :)

blog/podcast of the day: camera position

Jeff Curto is a lecturer at the College of DuPage in Illinois, teaching the history of photography (you may have heard me speak of that podcast before). He also has a blog/podcast that deals with the creative/technical side of taking pictures:

http://www.cameraposition.com/

Current podcast/blog entry is on the topic of 'the Zone system' which is a way of thinking about scenes in terms of exposure and how the light sensor in your camera works. Very educational and useful.

Adobe Lightroom to be released mid-Feb

For those of you looking to spend lots of money on a photo-workflow app:

Feb 16 19 is the target release date, and the price is USD$299

Which, coincidentally, is the exact same price as Apple Aperture is RRP'ing for.

Mmmmmm... Caffeinated Donuts... *drool*

This will solve the lack of time for my usual morning coffee/brekkie dilemma... *drool*

I'm a Mac. I'm a PC - PC bites back

LOL. To be fair, I actually like Apple's "I'm a Mac, I'm a PC" ads. But these are classic and probably more honest.

Smile! You're on Google Maps!

Apparently both Google and Microsoft have separately announced flyovers to occur on Australia Day in which high-resolution photographs will be snapped.
