Some Grad school thesis project which involves a flash game got Sony attention and have now commissioned an enhanced version which will be sold through the PlayStation Network.

The game is called 'flOw' and is pretty interesting...

So the story is that this website is running on Fedora Linux on the new PS3, and the challenge is to hax0r the website to replace the pic on the website with another pic hidden in the deep dark reaches of the Fedora filesystem...

Yay! PS3 is now out in Japan, but turns out there is an ugly side to this launch where enterprising Japanese businessmen pay homeless Chinese nationals to line up for PS3's on launch day, then flog them off on eBay for much more...

Not sure what to think, but at least the homeless people get something out of it?

Back to the Future?

Interesting article drawing parallels between the launch of the PS2 back in 2000 and the upcoming launch of the PS3. Is history repeating itself? Not an article for more info about the PS3, or even cool new features or stuff that would make the Sony fanboy go ooooo and aaaaahhhh... but worth a read from a marketing and product strategy point of view...

Yet another PS3 link... this shows the menu interface for the soon to be released PS3 in the middle of November in the US, us Aussies will get them in March 2007 I think...

The interface is very PSP'esque but with heaps more functionality and in all it's 1080p HD glory... :) Also look out for the novelty photo slideshow where your photos are dropped onto a matte background in a pseudo random manner and you can zoom in and move around like in a 3D world... interesting no doubt even for the non-Sony PlayStation fanboys out there... :P
